Woodgrain Effect Vase
« on: July 01, 2022, 02:47:37 PM »
This 5" basket vase has the woodgrain decoration similar to that used by Heppel on their coal truck and also, I think, by Greener. It has an RD lozenge but it's small and virtually impossible to decipher. There are three lugs inside to take a flower block. I've not been able to find another.

I saw your one Neil and the decoration looks the same. I'm having a job even working out which lozenge it is but I haven't given up yet.  ;D

Hi Nev
I had one of these a few years ago. I seem to remember the lozenge was easy to read but made no sense as it contained 2 or maybe even 3 X's.
Never did work it out. Have another look at the lozenge.

Yes Mike a couple do look like X's but also on its side one looks like a 4, overall it doesn't make sense, I think I'm getting lozenge blindness. I've checked all the Heppel registrations and can't find a match to the lozenge but I think it's probably by them or possibly Davidson who acquired their moulds.

Because mine has been seen with a Greener mark on in some cases, I am wondering if the "Davidson acquired the Heppell moulds" is accurate for the whole of the moulds, maybe some that Davidson didn't want went to Greener.
