Lalique 'la Dame aux pavots' commemorative framed picture
« on: September 06, 2022, 05:23:43 PM »
This is a recent addition to the library at Isle of Wight Museum of Glass. The picture apparently was issued in conjunction with an exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs entitled Réne Lalique 1860-1945 Glass and Jewelry in Paris on 23 October 1991. It is inscribed 'Un hommage à mon grand-père' and signed 'M. Lalique', i.e. Marie-Claude Lalique. The inscription looks hand written, but I can't be certain. The picture is shrink wrapped in plastic. The frame measures 25.5 cm x 20.5 cm and the picture measures 16.5 cm x 11.3 cm.

I can't find any information on the internet. But I did note that the Fall 1991 issue of Lalique Magazine of the Lalique Society of America has this same image on the front cover and there is an article on pages 4 and 5 about the exhibition. That is why I am linking the picture with the exhibition.

I know very little about Lalique. Can anyone with more expertise comment, please? Thanks.

Anton
