Just wondering if anyone has seen one of these before. Clear glass chest of drawers, 10.5cm tall, unmarked. No idea as to function!

I would say it's a Victorian spill vase, but I don't know the maker.

Might be a bit tall for cards, from memory they were not that big.

Yes, I had considered that it might be for cards but drew the same conclusion as John because Victorian calling cards, as far as I'm aware, weren't that much different in size to today's business cards. I suppose it's possible that it held some sort of advertising cards for a furniture retailer. It might just as easily be an interestingly shaped spill vase.

  I thought it was a bit short for spills.
Playing cards? I am a slightly more familiar with the size of those, but not for the purposes of gambling and casinos.
It doesn't appear to have lost a lid, so I'd doubt it is for sweeties.

Sometimes the lids for sweet boxes were just cardboard inserts
