Unusual white, striped bowl (or is it a light fitting?)
« on: February 10, 2023, 08:47:28 PM »
Weird as it may sound, I am not sure if this is a bowl or a light fitting  ???  It measures 25.5 cm across at its widest, 14 cm across the rim on the underside, 11.5 cm high.  The stripes seem to be acid etched. Any ideas who made it?

I don't think I ever found out who made my version - and they might not be the same maker - but I did find a few when searching 'double walled bowl' I think.

Mine is here for comparison.  It's big.  Probably designed as a fruit bowl I thought ?

I think they're a great design that feels quite contemporary.
This is a bowl that it says was designed by Orlando Zennaro - I've seen some that say designed by him for Ogetti:

Different shape to yours and mine but also double-walled.

However the cloudy mottled technique and the way the colour is laid on on mine feels art deco period somehow. It is to my eye, beautifully done and doesn't feel 'mass produced' .  However the style and shape feels contemporary to me.  Confusing!

A number of them in different colours and sizes here as well:
