Help With ID For This Jelly Fish Paperweight
« on: March 31, 2023, 09:28:21 AM »

If anyone can help with an ID for this that would be amazing!
I feel that it’s modern, but not sure.
The Jelly fish faintly glows in the dark with a blue/green hue.
I’d like to find other examples.

Many thanks!

Please upload the images to this board rather than linking them.  The way it is right now, your query is time limited and any responses will be meaningless once the links expire.

Hi

I suspect this is a contemporary Chinese product.  They have been making lots of different styles of jellyfish paperweight, some rather like yours.

I agree it may well be Chinese - although this is the first I have seen with this shape.

Most People enjoy them and if you like it why worry where it originated.

This one is by an USA maker called Richard Satava - a Purple Ribbed Jellyfish.  His works are truly stunningly real - especially if you have seen jellyfish up close in the ocean - which I had.

We have a couple of Satava jellyfish - as you say, stunning pieces.
