I'm not positive and can't make everything out too clearly, but if it has a neat twisted cane top and if there is incalmo in there somewhere, it could well be something from Mike Hunter of Twists Glass?

I am not thinking Chinese at all.
Mike doesn't have examples of all his work on his website and he does do a lot of unique works combining different and difficult techniques.

Much of the more recent Chinese glass is stunning. That's the joy of glass. A good piece is a good piece, it is always it's own original you are holding and it doesn't matter where it was made or who made it. It is its full self.
But I do think this piece is far more complex than most Chinese output and required a very high level of skills to produce.
The techniques used and the skills required to have made this are in the realms of Mike Hunter's considerable and outstanding talents.
However in the last few years, more and more younger artists are emerging and I don't know nearly enough about them yet.

Looks Chinese to me but I really can't resolve what is going on around the neck from the photos.

It might be but it's really well made.  There's a twisted cane around the top and the crackle on the body with maybe mica? and then cased and it's really well finished, designed and made.  I just associate that sort of grey black mottled look with newer glass but not sure about Chinese.

Like John, I can't see the top part properly. I can't work out how the caned part was applied, or even how neat the cane twists are.

Mike Hunter has made pieces with this sort of crackle part included. He's absolutely ace at twisted cane work. It's the sort of thing he would produce. I just can't quite work out if the quality is good enough for his work from these pics.
