This little piece has some style about it and strikes me it has a fair bit of age, The glass has a
very good thickness and seems to be quite iridescent in some lights. Hoping somebody might
recognize the style it only measures a small 2" tall x 2.5" square thanks

In some of the pictures it looks like there might be a thin green/grey layer between the red and the clear  or is that just the reflections/iridescence ?

Gareth I can see that too. I thought it looked very slightly opalescent?  as thought the red was cased in opalescent rather than clear glass.  But also wondered if that might have been an iridescent surface treatment making it appear so.

Thanks for your comments both i am afraid it is a little odd piece of glass when looking under
a loop it appears to have a rich pink only on the internal surface inside which comes up just to within a few
mm of the top. The glass is quite thick and looks as though it has been treated with a surface colorant or
similar. Both internal and external have an iridescence like petrol on water. I though it might have been an
a piece of Venini or similar but not at all sure really ..sadly got a dink internal knock near base still nice :)

I like it. I’m leaning towards Italian.
To me it has some similarities with this piece.

I know this is corroso and yours isn’t, but shapes, sizes are similar.

It only has a thin layer of pink/red I think because a) it's expensive to use and b) any thicker and it can make the colour very dark. I think.  But don't quote me on this.

Gareth that's so weird you linked that because when I first saw the bowl I thought it might have been a corroso piece.

Is it an optical trick of the photographs, or has the surface been cold worked? If so, it looks quite like Venini's 'velato' finish, which can sometimes retain a bit of a shine.

Sorry for my lack of how to reply properly and promptly the vase attached is similar as there are horizontal grinding that has
been done both inside and outside but i do not know about cold working sorry.

Thanks for attaching to this piece as it looks very similar in it's construction when you turn the bowl over it looks so similar it could be mine.
