Libochovice? Candle Holders
« on: December 16, 2023, 08:04:33 AM »
Season's Greetings to all members from Downunder Australia!

I have a pair of candle sticks I think are Libochovice from the 1940s.  I have come across a current ebay listing stating they are Libochovice pattern #1396 but I cannot find any reference for this pattern.  I'm wondering now if my assumption is incorrect.  I've enclosed a couple of photographs for reference in case any kind member could help with the identification.

Many thanks
Barry

Yes they are Libochovice 1396, they are shown in the catalogue on the CD which accompanies Marcus Newhalls Sklo Union book. I can't show the image as it is copyrighted. The date given is a general one of pre 1958 but they could date from the 1920's onward.

Thanks for the info NevB!  I thought it would be in Marcus Newhall's book.  We've been trying to obtain a copy and the CD for a while now.  Our local book shop recently found us a copy in USA but the price of over AU$800 was a bit prohibitive!  Any clues where I could obtain a copy reasonably, would be appreciated.

Thanks so much for your help and wishing you a very enjoyable festive season.

Barry

Thanks Barry, I've seen one on Amazon at about £200, the price has gone up a lot since I bought my copy.
