Topic: Edward Moore Pattern 261 lidded pot

Identified from the Edward Moore catalogue, this is an odd one. It is on the same page as lidded sugars but it has an isolated pattern number and sits alone in its range.
It has a hole in the lid for a spoon or somesuch.

There is a very similar item in the Molineaux Webb catalogue which again has an isolated pattern number.

Which suggests this is a rare and distinct item for the table - honey pot? mustard pot? preserve pot?

Height is 6 inches, 4 without the lid.

Jam/marmalade I suspect. Too big for mustard, as that was made in small quantities because it dries out and/or loses its flavour quickly. Honey pots tended to have built-in or seperate saucers to catch dribbles
