Identification help please
« on: July 01, 2024, 03:27:37 AM »
I found this in the back of the kitchen cupboard and wondered what might be. I google image search and it seems to suggest it might be Swedish glass. Does anyone know?

It's heavy and very smooth. It's asymetrical in height, 16cm at the back and 12cm at the front. It has a diameter of 21cm.
There are no markings on it.

 Thank you 😊

Welcome to the board :)

what is the base like? Do you have a clear photograph of it?  If it has a polished pontil mark that could indicate something different to say a molded glass base.

Hi

I tried to upload a better quality picture but it was too large and I couldn't attach it. Any suggestions on how to overcome this? I'm working on it. The base is completely flat and smooth, with no markings at all, the glass itself looks like sea glass and has a few tiny bubbles in it.

I'm wondering if it might be Spain recycled glass.  There was (is?) a lot of white swirly recycled glass around.

Yes lots in this manner from Spain in recent years, last week I ran into a blue and clear charger in this fashion with a Made in Poland sticker.
