I've been researching this for a long time and absolutely no ideas have come forth.
When I saw it I first thought possibly Guernsey glass because of the petally rim. However I really don't think it is. The petal rim is very irregular and 'hand shaped'/organic.
The base has an impressed mark (just like a pottery mark) which is like a leaf shape or an island perhaps. I'm pretty certain it is specifically impressed on, not a mould error. So I've searched island glass makers but again no luck.
It's incredibly heavy and very sculptural ... as though it's supposed to be a flower head as a piece of art, a poppy seed head or similar even though it is vase shaped, if you see what I mean? In fact, with the line/row of large bubbles around it, it occurs to me that it is supposed to represent a poppy seed head.
The pink is not painted on, it's an internal colour done using powders then and layer of white stripes which also have regular large air bubbles in a line right around the body of the vase.
It is almost like pate de verre, then I thought kiln cast glass. Having looked into kiln cast studio pieces the way the colour is worked and the beautiful powdery effect makes me think it is kiln cast glass.
(That said, I cannot see how making the shape would be possible so maybe not?)
If anyone has any ideas who the maker could be I'd be very grateful. An impressed obscure mark isn't a great way of getting their name in lights really. A signature would have been better.
Many thanks
