the absence of neck rings and mushroom stopper suggests this bottle is likely to be from somewhere in the last 25 years of the C19 - how this shaped stopper would be described I've no idea, so suggestions welcome. Remarkably damage free and with typical slice cutting around the neck, though as is often the case with these moulded bottles there's nothing to suggest a maker, and definitely an absence of a matching No. Various inclusions in the glass - seeds, bubbles etc. Sorry the pix not too good.
Coming back to McConnell's 'Decanter' book, he provides examples from the second half of the C19 from Sowerby, some general 'maker unknown' bottles, Percival Vickers and a few mechanically blown French examples, that share something in common with this example - so a fairly wide range to choose from. Including stopper, height is c. 30 cms.
