From the colour and frosting I thought this would be European but it actually is very similar to the RS No.1 shown here P.22.

The star base and surrounding diamonds are also similar to the plates on P.21.

It is 3.25" in diameter and weighs in at 12oz./350gms. It also has pressed inside what appears to be a 1 mark. The base has been ground flat leaving some rough areas from faults in the glass. I did wonder if it might be a later one made from the same mould.

Hi Nev, I can see why you've speculated a match to Robinsons and their suite number 1 named "Check"

However there is another almost identical pattern out there which I think is a better match.
This pattern gave me a density of 2.49g/cc so I think northeast or import.
On the alternate pattern, the diamonds are a little more elongated, which they seem to also be on your salt.

Thanks Neil, looking from directly above my salt only the bottom parts of the diamonds are visible, I would speculate that this also applies to the catalogue images on P.21. Having just a side on image makes it difficult to be sure but the rest of the pattern matches well. My piece has a density of around 2.8g/cc.

It has a chance then at that density level. I do have the Check pattern as a dish, which came out at 2.75g/cc.
Haven't been able to find any uranium glass made by Robinsons, doesn't mean they didn't make any!

Ah yes, you're right. I do have a picture lined up for my glass book of one of those green number 3's, and the same in clear. Forgot about them, should keep all my photos in the same place...
