ID Help With Ivory and Red Windowpane Glass Vase
« on: December 25, 2024, 01:17:27 PM »
Hi Everyone, I recently acquired this vase at an estate sale and was told it was Czech/Bohemian. It is signed but I can’t make out the signature. It measures 5” in diameter, 9 1/4” tall.  Can anyone confirm if it is Czech? If so, any idea of the maker? Thanks in advance for any help!

Possibly Fritz Lauenstein/Fritz Glass?

The appearance of the base reminds me very strongly of a small bowl I bought in the Natural History Museum shop in London, perhaps about 20 years ago.
It was made in Africa, but the design reminded me so much of early Mdina Earthtones, I bought it for a record in case it ever did get confused.
I have photos, but cannot currently find them, and I can't remember the name of the maker. But I'll keep digging.  ::)
Cheers, Sue M. (she/her)

Thank you both for your input. NevB, I contacted Fritz Glass and sent them photos and they confirmed it IS one of their creations! It is their “Basket” vase from 2006. Very excited to have confirmed attribution! Thank you so much for the help!

That's good to know Roger, it's useful that they are still in business and their glass seems to be collectable.
