Two Edinburgh Crystal glasses - looking for the pattern name.
« on: February 08, 2025, 03:51:26 PM »
I've picked up two Edinburgh Crystal glasses, but I cannot find a name for the pattern anywhere. It isn't in my pattern books, and looking online hasn't helped. What I know:

- the maker's mark places them between 1955 and 1980.
- crystaldrinkingglasses calls it EBC-02
- replacements.com calls it EDI13

Most ebay listings call it EDI13 or 13, but they seem to be quoting replacements.com. Help, please, I'm stuck.

It is perfectly possible it does not have a name beyond the code.
It looks to be a variation on their highly prized Thistle collection.
Thistle, Iona and Star of Edinburgh are their "flagship" cuts, their most famous and are never contracted out, while other cuts have been.

I have always looked out for thistle cuts and I have not seen this particular one before.
I have seen plenty of the Edinburgh one, fewer of the Tudor and the Svarc ones.

Cheers, Sue M. (she/her)

Thanks. I've tried everywhere and I can't find another name, so I think 13 it is.
