Iittala Mariskooli bowls
« on: February 15, 2025, 11:08:34 PM »
I picked up two of these Mariskooli "rio brown" bowls today. The detail on the bowls seem to be quite good. I believe there have been fakes made of this design.
My query is, the height of my rio brown bowls are 90mm. I have scoured the internet and i have only come across examples that are 150 and 120 mm in height.
The example on the left is an old Nuutajarvi version which is 150mm tall.
Any information on this topic would be gratefully accepted.

Thanks for the reply Nev, i had seen that site but missed the detail i was after. i will try and send the link.
I changed a few messages with my sister in law in Finland and she has a blue one and a green one in that extra small size.
You could get them through a bonus loyalty card scheme with the Finnish supermarket K-Market.
I have not found out what years that scheme was running for.
Are you still collecting them?

Sorry about this ,that link came without the text which read, "A comparison with the smaller green goblet, apparently a K-Market exclusive." Credit to Fraublucher on Wordpress .cm
Not sure about that as the smaller bowl has a Marimekko inprint on the base. those sizes seem to be 150mm and 120mm.
A little bit further forward but not conclusive yet.
