Topic: Help with 18th century wine glass?

I've got an interesting old wine glass here and would appreciate any guidance. The foot is the same size as the bowl and the piece is very clear, it doesnt have the typical 'grey' tone that comes with age. The stem is also not centred with the foot. Should this ring alarm bells. It is a lovely thing either way, would just appreciate some pointers on its autheticity.

Looks lovely from a distance sadly unable to tell as the picture has not enough detail i think
there is a downloadable software on glass message board which one of the moderators might
be able to help with then you can upload some more pictures. Base pictures always help too.

I agree we need better pictures, but it does look to have authentic features. Bell shape bowl, opaque twist stem with knops, conical folded foot and I assume it has a broken pontil?
How much wear is there, particularly around the base of the foot rim and also the bowl rim?
If authentic I'm thinking about c1760 ish with those features.

I'll see if i can get round to figuring out this picture business. It's hard to show in the image how "clean" it feels. Thank you for the respones in the mean time.

To check for "invisible" wear on a foot which only has a very small area of contact with whatever it is sitting on, take a fingernail around where you might expect wear to be (the contact point). You can feel wear you can't see.

I'm sure I can see a grey tint to the colour of the glass.

Hi, the glass looks like a Georgian (c1760) multi spiral opaque twist wine glass with bell bowl.  The only thing that worries me is that the foot doesn't look right, but it could just be the angle of the photo.  Can you post a photo from side on and of the underside of the foot?  (If you don't know how then just save you photos to your computer, right click on the image (if using MS) and open with paint.  Go to the  "Resize and skew" option at the top left, click on pixels, change the "horizontal" to 500 and save as a .jpeg.)
