Can anyone help?
« on: March 02, 2025, 07:38:37 AM »
Can anyone help me in identifying these glass ashtrays please, they both weigh 1120grams, are 4.5cm tall and 19.5cm wide....both ashtrays have a fine center etching of a man and a woman dressed in early Georgian or Baroque clothing. They both have 3 pairs of cigarette and cigar scoops.
Many Thanks.

Hello,

From the pictures I would exclude they are made based on the Murano technique, the glass appears to be engraved and painted on the edges. Do you have pictures showing better the edge and the bottom?
Interesting history of Glass Wiki. Never forget more than 700 years of Italian Glass history, despite imitations!
My favourite artists of murano glass.
