Possibly Scandinavian?
« on: March 27, 2025, 05:59:03 PM »
Any help with this small flask, 190mm in height, please? Double gathered. No marks on base, which is flat. The exterior seems to be slightly 'sand-blasted', giving a dull effect. Thank you. John

That's a gorgeous shape.  I wonder if it might be Polish glass?  I have a large orange jug with a clear handle which looks to be the same colours as yours and is also satin glass.  I think back many years ago, I though it was made in Poland iirc.  I have a funny feeling it was bought in Heals or Habitat about 25 years ago.

That is very interesting that you mention Heals or Habitat. I found this just last Friday and when I saw it I thought I recognised. I was with my daughter at the time and said 'I am sure I have seen these on sale in Heals or Habitat'. Back in the late 70s and very early 80s I worked around the Tottenham Court Road area so was always popping in to look at their unusual glass. So I will go along with your funny feeling but push it back another 20 years or so. Cheers for the response.
