Wuidart decanter
« on: September 25, 2025, 11:05:55 AM »
Hi
Purchased this square dumpy decanter at a car boot. Not really my sort of thing but  it has a Wuidart label. It's a basic decanter which was blown into a two piece mould and fitted for a large solid ball stopper. Polished pontil on the base. 19cm tall bottle without stopper.
From online searches Wuidart were formed by a Belgian buyout of Elfverson (importers of Scandinavian glass) with some involvement of Ronald Stennet Wilson and some production by Whitefriars following.
My decanter it seems was made in Sweden however, the label although not really legible at the bottom appears to be a match for others online which read Made in Sweden.
Anyone have ideas on who the maker was and when, seems like Wuidart finished early 1960s.
Cheers
Keith
