Topic: Paperweights containing beads

I've had these unusual paperweights for a while & have often wondered about their age & origin....
They both have inclusions of what are known in bead-collecting circles as "white heart" beads. These are small beads lined with white. Typical colour is the pinkish red of those seen in the large egg shaped weight.
These beads later became collectable as a type of "trade bead".
White heart beads were made in both Murano & Bohemia.
Does anyone recognise this type of weight, & if so, any opinions & ideas would be much appreciated.

Those are not actually beads. They are canes with a clear core with white casing which is then cased in a translucent color. Because they are then encased in the clear glass of the paperweight, that clear core now gives the illusion of being a hole when in fact it was an undrilled piece of glass before it was encased. If beads were encased in a paperweight there would be bubbles where the holes were because air would get trapped there.

I've seen these bead thingie canes before. In a modern Baccarat paperweight that is very colorful.
