Laroc Dressing table set (Czech)
« on: December 31, 2006, 09:45:19 AM »
Hi Guys
A belated merry christmas to one and all and a happy new year.
Here is a photo http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/displayimage.php?pos=-4405  of a dressing table set my wife and I saw in a shop we visited today when we looked at the two pots we found on the base,
what I think was LAROC and what looked like a UK Reg No5??? hard to read also Czech-Solvakia.

The design of a bird in flight is Intaglio and coloured on all pieces we did not get a look at the tray, the candle sticks pots had a mirror polish finish, I have done a internet search and could not find any info on this, I may not have the name LAROC correct the mirror polish made it hard to see.

Can anyone help has anyone seen this kind of glass, many thanks for any and all your help

Just a vague idea.....could Laroc be Guy Laroc (Laroche) the parfumier? I was thinking, maybe in the same way that we have seen Coty marked on Saint Gobain glass. It's just an idea and could be waaaay off.

Inwald 1934. I just found it!

Pattern number 88829 for the big tray. 8821-822 for the covered boxes.

What a fabulous set............

Hi Glen

Thank you for your help with ID. If I may ask were can I find a copy of Inwald 1934 catalouge?

In my photo there is a tray a pair of candle sticks and two lidded pots one about 3 inch the other about 4 inch, is this a complete set or are there more.

Tony - there are other shapes, such as the ring holder, and there was a smaller tray too, I think. The catalogue is via Siegmar Geiselberger - Pressglas Korrespondenz

8821 would place this as 1930s....
88829  is a typo?
regards,
Marcus
