Hi Glen and Max,
Max, a pleasure as always.
Glen,
It would be right, but, as you are aware, Czechoslovakian glass history can be a mine-field. With your drawing, the realities of converting design into production, may well necessitate slightly differing moulds. Thus testing a prototype mould may lead to changes, or problems with creating a (Max, I take it this is a four piece mould?)use-able mould that will withstand constant use. Also we have found differences in individual pieces, where one might think of this as mass-production, and therefore each piece would be identical. In addition, drawings from one source, ie VUSU, may differ slightly from a drawing for Glassexport, and so on......
As with your Piccadilly vase, sometimes, "known" wisdom leaves you with more questions than answers.
In the case of Max's vase, the vase has given one answer, and created even more issues to consider.
Glass, the endeavours of Sisyphus, writ LARGE.
Regards,
Marcus
