I found more of Grandmother's glass bead-work!!
« on: March 16, 2009, 06:38:36 AM »
Hello, my friends,

I would like to share a recent find, a glass beaded, heart shaped cushion, hand made by my Cherokee Grandmother.  A While back I posted some pictures of her moccassins, and your interest in them, and my heritage, was such a pleasure to me.  That beadwork and the glass beads are awesome, and this beaded cushion is no disapointment to me, altho the cushion itself has seen better days.   These glass beads are very different, and in very nice condition.  For your pleasure, and I hope you enjoy these as much as I.

Linda

PS, here are the items of beadwork previously posted.

http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,2785.msg21039.html#msg21039

the pictures are no longer there, so I will see what I can do, my brother has the moccasiins right now, he took them to a Native American museum to have them looked at.  It will take a while to put these pictures back together.

Fantastic little piece, Linda!  Imagine the work that went into them!

I have lace doilies crocheted by my great-grandmother in the Irish tradition, and it's wonderful to touch something that she made with her own hands.
