Topic: Pressed Glass Cucumber Bowl - Kastrup/Fyens... But Who Else...?

Just for interest, very similar bowls are shown in Davidson's 1940 catalogue - 9.25" banana split, and Cucumber size  11" & 12.5" (from "Davidson Glass - a history" - Chris and Val Stewart).

This bowl, along with a smaller size, is also in the 1924 Kastrup / Fyens catalogue, which I have access to.

The moulds are different - the DK ones are straight (hard to tell from the photograph in Dansk Glas), UK veer to one side at the tip, and the DK ones have 19 lobes, the UK ones just 16.

But the similarity of design is striking.

In 1912, Davidson's version was sold as a banana split bowl, as part of an ice creme service.

It appears that the Davidson ones have 17 'leaf' lobes running along the sides. I assume these small differences were to avoid accusations of direct plagiarism...?
