odd studio vase with wire...signed?

Any ideas of this strange looking piece much appreciated,

it's about 8in, 20cm tall fairly thick clear crystal blown into a wire mesh (or is it a skeleton mould) cut and polished rim & signed to base.

I've no idea at all!!

Adam, does it seem to you to have another dot over the far end as well (like the one over the earlier (presumably) i or is it just my eyes getting old?

No your eyes are as good as a teenagers Anne! it does have a second dot at the end...so maybe a European name?

I thought it may start with an 'M' and have a 't' in the middle but the whole signature is a bit of a squiggle to be honest.

More like a fat jellyfish caught in a net than a crustacean...
