My first piece of Holmegaard!
« on: September 08, 2008, 04:32:56 PM »
I worked at the local mall yesterday and found this little gem on sale!  :hiclp:  As soon as I looked at the bottom I knew it was Holmegaard, it's signed.  ;D  It's only 3 1/2" tall but what beautiful crystal.  I was wondering if someone here could tell me what the number means, if anything, 6510?  Thanks!!

The number should be 16510 - it's the pattern / shape number. Holmegaard started signing pieces with these numbers, rather than the year of production, between 1960-64 (depending on the design series).

This vase is from the 'Umanak' series, designed by Per Lütken in 1959, and is the smallest size.
