This is an intresting essay about the Mdina Glass works - needs dowloading and is quite basic I suppose(?), but good for newbies like me!

Wow, what an excellent site!  There are lots of old books on glassmaking in the American Libraries section, a topic near and dear to my heart.   There's even one on the sun's effects on glass, something I've been wondering about lately.  Thanks for the great link!
