Sklo Union Amber Vase?
« on: September 05, 2009, 09:33:49 AM »
Hello All,

Just wondering what this vase might be please.

It's quite thick and heavy, and is 8 inches tall.

TIA

Stu.

Hi,

Take a look at this link.  I bought a very similar vase a few weeks back, looks alike.  Mine was in clear but measure 9".  I find it helps to post a pic of the base too.

Maybe someone can be more specific later, but it is still an interesting read....

Hi Sharron

That helps.  I think I will market it as possibly Sklo, and with good photos it can be for the potential buyer to decide.  I much prefer yours though.

I really appreciate your kind reply.  Many thanks.

Hi Stu your vase is unlikely to be from the Sklo Union factory's its possible its Polish or East German from the 70s I have one in a greyish colour with a similar bird bath base to the Sklo factories but more crudely finished I'm more inclined to believe its of Polish origin. Sharron's vase is by Fidenza of Italy and is far more common to find than yours usually around the £1 mark at most car boots every Sunday.. I have 5 or 6 of them they do make good flower vases for the wife though.
Regards Paul.
