During my trip to UK I have seen also Stourbridge glassmaking area "black country" and the fantastic Broadfield glass museum, thank you Robert very much. On the way back home I also visited the Czech glass exhibition in Lommel, I will place the pictures from there to web shortly.

Lommel  -  that's actually quite close to where I live and I had no idea of this museum. My poor husband will dragged along to visit another glass museum soon :)
Thanks for mentioning it, Jindrich. I'll be happy to visit there and see what they have!

Thanks, Jindrich. Great to see the pieces. They look wonderful. What's the price range, just to break my heart completely?

And I've just noticed an ad for return flight to London from Vancouver for $250 in November.

BTW, how many miles did you put on your car on the weekend?

Hi David,
the exhibition is over, Vizner pieces prices vary, I do not watch it becouse it is far from the pieces I can afford. But it is alway in thousands Euro surely.
I will see Mr. Vizner this weekend, I can ask him.

The trip was not so hard, it is about 900 km from my place to Rotterodam, than about 150 km from Hull to Leeds where I met my bosses, 220 km to Black Country and from there aproximately 250 km through London to Dover. Here I have got delay becouse of our French striking friends on Calais side. From Calais I traveled through Lommel back home - 1300 km. So totaly 2820 km = 1416 miles what is not so bad if you take into acount how much pleasure I had and how much so interesting places I have seen.

For my Czech friends, becouse for English it is not so exciting, I made a set of pictures "Driving in London".

For me visit London with car is always "adrenaline sport" something like bungee jumping or paragliding becouse my driving in right lane continental habit is strong.

I made a query about a green Vizner bowl (such as this one http://lh3.ggpht.com/_Q3G1Kj3VlQk/TLxwiv04t8I/AAAAAAABC8Y/b_6pMGT6tU0/s800/V17.jpg in Jindrich's album) once on a serious Czech site. I think it was 8000 Euro. Yes, it broke my heart completely as well.  :thud:

Best Regards
Emil

Hi Robert,
I nominated myself as the first Vizneorolgist worldwide, so I will try to anwer to you.
Frantisek Vizner has worked generaly in four design areas:
1. pressed glass
2. free hand formed glass in Skrdlovice
3. cut atelier glass
4. design for architecture

When you like novels, take a look at http://fvizner.com/pdf/warnus.pdf
some pictures and more details are also at not very smart Vizner's daughter website - www.fvizner.com

Some other infos you can find also at
http://www.webareal.cz/ceskoslovenskesklo/20-FRANTISEK-VIZNER
(ignore Czech text and look for blue caption in English)

Vizner catalogues you can also fin at my web site

http://www.webareal.cz/ceskoslovenskesklo

at the left hand side menu in blue field - 4th from the top Autori (Designers) scroll down to Vizner Frantisek - zou will find there about 20 links to Vizner catalogues or pictures from events.

In case you will want to know more, just write me an email

My English friend made a point to my Czenglish, and I feel that my languege skills are not good to express what I wanted to say.

I did not want to say that Vizner's daughter is not smart enough, I spoke about her website. This website does not look enough smart to me and I have expressed this both, Mr. Vizner and her charming daughter one year ago.
No maintainance of site, strange handling, simply something what one could find to be very British "interesting".

Sorry for my poor English, please feel free to fix my bugs anytime.
