Topic: Art Deco frosted glass vase

Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone will know something about this vase.  It is 7 1/4" tall, the top is a 2 1/2" square. In the US Kopp and Consolidated made this style of "bumpy" shape and this one doesn't match either company. One suggestion from an old glass board here is that it was made in Czech.  :X:

Certainly looks like silver gray Ruba Rhombic, but the size is wrong.

I can not think of the company name right now, but it is definitely an American piece of glass.  It is much thicker and heavier than a Ruba Rhombic piece.

I do not believe its Consolidated RR & am a bit doubtful on Kopp because the angles for either one are simply not crisp or sheer enough.  There is one oddball that is somewhat along these line, however I do not know if they made a vase. Gunderson made a Waterfall candlestick that uses block type angles & thats the only US manufacturer I can think of that (in this instance) used large angles that encompasses the entire piece other than Indiana & we would have known long before now if it were Indiana.

Is the mouth of the vase rectangular?

Do you have a Kopp Catalog or reference you have compared to? I have had a Kopp Powder box in the past, and one of the defining points between a Kopp and Consolidated piece is the square mouth. I also know from handling, that the Kopp is heavier, and I found it generally to have less angular definition than than the RR.

No, I don't have a Kopp catalog. The group at chatabout said it wasn't Kopp. Here a picture from the top of the vase, chips and all.

Personally, I would not rule Kopp out without seeing a book or catalog that shows all of their designs. IMHO the glass surface frost, angular definition and square mouth of this piece all fall directly in line with Kopp pieces I have handled.....
