The Scorpian mark is i believe a myth some pillock a few years back saw the shear marks and thought it looked like a Scorpian , it sold for more money with the Scorpian story VOILA . I believe it started with the Murano clowns .

i hear it so many times and there is only so many times i can say.. its just a myth, the mark is from how the piece is cut, but some people just remain adament and the next time they say the same thing >:(

I don't believe the vase is alabastro. It isn't Seguso definitely. I believe the glass is the type called opaline veritable, but can't see the characteristics of the glass well in the pictures. This type of glass was made in France, Italy (Nason), Germany, and probably other countries. It looks like the very top of your rim is clear, so that helps some. Nason had a clear ring on their pieces, but it was a bit below the rim instead of on top. So your vase doesn't appear to be Nason. If you put "veritable opaline" into Google, there are many pieces similar to yours, but I didn't see an exact one when I looked briefly.

Many thanks Anita, it does appear to have a very tiny amount of clear just on the very tip of the rim. It is very dirty inside which makes it look a bit darker towards the bottom of the pink bit.
just added 2 more pics

When you hold the glass to sunlight, does it have "amber fire"? Veritable opaline shows its amber in direct sunlight. Alabastro is opaque, so achieving a clear rim without applying different glass wouldn't be possible.

I looked at the pedestal of yours and it does look very white and opaque, so I could have been totally wrong about the veritable opaline. I found so many things similar to your vase, but nothing exact. I have a feeling we'll be able to find it.

Michelle if you hold it up to a strong electric light the base should have a fiery opalescence I think and perhaps the vase also?  It could be Stelvia maybe?  Or maybe as Anita says  Opaline Veritable?  eek I'm off to hide before I get told off for saying the wrong thing  :ooh
