I have a few birds made by these people, but haven't been able to figure out who the people are. Maybe AVeM. Maybe Fratelli Toso. Could be so many different companies. Your bird looks like a guinea. The body form is like the guineas Barbini and Archimede Seguso did, but they are different than yours. I hope someone can figure out who did yours, because it would give me a lead on the mine.

Fingers crossed. You know I never intended to collect birds, they just seem to attract me (and many others by the posts on this superb website!)

I have found these pictures in a Seguso book that I have, similar but not identical. :-\

Mod: Pics removed after discussion with Lauretta - and later posts tidied up.
For reference, the Seguso book referred to is: 'Art Glass by Archimede Seguso' edited by Umberto Franzoi.

Before they are removed -- the AS guineas are very beautiful. There are also a picture on Antique Helper, I believe, as well as one made by Barbini. These guineas go for good money. I'm afraid our birds are not in the same league, but I think they are well made and probably by a good company... if we could only figure out who.

HI there, what do I need to look for to help with the identification? The bubble work that creates the feather effect is very distinctive in real life. It is difficult to capture it in the photo's.
