Yes, both your shades are for fairy lamps.  They come in a variety of shapes, colors, and sizes.  Some are English but many others are probably Bohemian c. 1890's.  Some came with matching floral bases but some were put on clear lamp cups or standards.  The following ad will give you an hint of how they were used. (This is a Clarke ad)


The following link will show you some of the colors and styles.  As you will see, there are many different styles.....basically the same but different.


The actual maker of some of these floral styles is unknown, but some have been attributed to John Walsh Walsh, Harrach, and Loetz.  The following is a good sampling of florals, some with definite attribution.


Finally, a word of caution.....Not every floral shade with petals is a fairy lamp.  Some are designed for gas and electric lighting.  Make sure you know what you invest in before you buy a "fairy lamp."
