Topic: Ugly, Bizarre Modern Cased Glass Vase

This "Mod" vase is so ugly that I had to buy it.  It has got me totally stumped.  I'm assuming it to be 1960s or 1970s, maybe Italian (it has that lightweight, "cheap" feel of Empoli), maybe Japanese, maybe U.S.A., maybe German?  White cased with red to orange to yellow overlay.  Measures 13 inches (32 cm) tall.  Any help would be appreciated.

I 'quite' like it and can't help, but I just need to put a shout in here for Empoli glass - it's not all cheap and lightweight although I know what you mean - I have the odd piece that isn't great (and was quite surprising when it turned up in the post), but I also have some fab cased glass that is quite heavy and really nicely done.

Maybe not quite wacky enough for Empoli, how about Japan?
