It's technically not my decision, but that of the Committee. I just relay those decisions. :)

We do have a policy on the use of copyright material, which is a complex area as we have members in many countries, we are hosted in the USA (therefore subject to their laws), and the board owner lives in New Zealand, just to further complicate matters.  Anyhow, I've added an update to the Help topic on Copyright today, which further explains the board's position in respect of the UK.  http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,24434.0.html

JOK I appreciate your comments as a lawyer, but we are a public board, so fall outside of the terms of the private study clause as we understand it. Plus the National Archives have strict requirements on how their material is reproduced, even though they are public documents. As ever, we err on the side of caution in order to protect the board. It does us no favours if we are accused of copyright infringements and could put the whole board at risk of closure. Hope you understand why we take this cautious stance. :)
Cheers! Anne, da tekniqual wizzerd

That's not the honeysuckle design on the decanter; it's 375896, which is much more common, more sort of tulipy and moulded not applied.

There’s a reference to 36184 in the trail so I have added the link so people can see what 36184 looks like.  :)
