Wine glass with ivy pattern
« on: February 08, 2012, 08:18:45 AM »
Hi

These are some photos of a wine glass that I recently acquired. I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on it; It appears to be blown glass with a cut ivy pattern and a ring of dots cut into the underside of the base. I'm particularly interested in what the style of stem with the ridges is and what sort of period it's from.

Thanks for your help

Dan

I suspect that it is a "Bohemia" pattern of recent times.  I had a set of wine glasses with a pattern name of "Diana" that had a stem like that and I seem to remember the Bohemia Ruby and Deep Blue wines of the 50s & 60s had similar grooved stems as well as twisted ones.
