Strange coincidence ....I just bought a copy of Josef Inwald 1940 catalogue and this vase is found on page 40 cat no. 11471

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/370811845805?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Hope this helps  :)

Thanks simba, i'm thrilled about your id,thanks very much and just when i thought i was becoming  an expert in anonymus glass collecting!!.To my mind it's a very well made peice it feels the right weight and has a sort of churchy calmness about it,or maybe self contained is a better description,am i right in thinking i can call it a Josef Inwald bohemian pressed glass art deco vase..thanks again and what a bit of luck!..

That shiny base can be a good Inwald indicator but I wonder if the colour points to post-War production (Sklo Union) at Rudolfova hut

See here http://sklo-union-glass.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=productdetails&virtuemart_product_id=76&virtuemart_category_id=37

and Czech rather than Bohemian

Thanks LS,it does have the shiny lilac brownish hints associated with rudofova hut, having trawled the into,i wonder if they carried on with a few deco designs?Could i ask would this colour nail it down to a certain designer(even if the shape may have been borrowed?)..

Doubt it and they certainly did carry on with old designs for a fair while
