Millefiori Paperweight - ID Help
« on: December 22, 2013, 11:36:14 PM »
Hi, this paperweight is about 2 inches tall and 2 1/4 inches wide, and has a concave base.  It is unmarked.  Can anyone ID the maker of this weight?  I've posted on ebay's PGP Board, and one poster thought it might be Strathearn because of the concave underside.  Another noted the little yellow irregular pentagon shaped spot, and wondered if that was the mark of a particular maker.  See last photo for close-up of that spot.

Thanks very much for any help.

To me it also looks like a Strathearn or possibly a late Vasart.

Have a look at this site, it might help in identification: http://strathearn.smugmug.com/

Hi.

It is a Strathearn, I am sure, rather than Vasart.  The little pentagonal mark is just where the ground has been forced up between the canes during manufacture.

Great - Thank you, Alan.  Are you ok with me posting your comments on my thread on ebay's PGP Board?
