Unknown maker for this ornate fruit comport
« on: January 26, 2014, 02:24:24 AM »
I bought this uranium comport yesterday at the Fryerstown Antique Fair in country Victoria. The seller bought it while on his annual pilgrimage to the UK to replenish his supply of glass.
It is 24.5 cm across at the top, the foot is 11.5 cm. square, and it is 20.5 cm. in height. It weighs in at 2.544 kg.
I did have a bit of a look through Brockwitz and Libochovice reference material I have but without success.
If anyone can enlighten me on its origin it would be really appreciated.
