Green Acid Etched Uranium Glass Vase ID Help
« on: February 21, 2014, 06:36:31 PM »
Hello Everybody !
I am having hard time identifying this unusual vase.
The vase has emerald green color and strongly acid etched surface which created great frosted pattern.
Also it seems to be made of Uranium/ Vaseline glass.
I was wondering if someone here can recognize it or at least give a direction for further research.
Thanks in advance for your attention!
Dimi

Hi. You don't say where you are from which can be an important  clue. Looks as if its Tiffin's Jack Frost decoration.

Yes the Jack Frost treatment was introduced in the late 20s & although the manufacturer is Tiffin (as in Tiffin, OH)...to be technically correct is made made at Factory K in Pittsburgh, PA.  All USG (United States Glass Co.) products (no matter which factory actually made the product) were named Tiffin (which was actually Factory R) after Sept. 1927. Before 9/27 products were marked USG or USGco. Change had to do with marketing products.
