Art Nouveau style vase, ID = Okra
« on: April 01, 2017, 06:10:07 PM »
I purchased this vase just over a week ago and
have been unable to find one that matches it,
the leaf pattern on the vase has four sleeping
figures on it.

It is 20.5cm tall by 9cm at its widest point, the
marks on the base are the letters DJ below which
is an unreadable signature under this are the letters
KMS see photos.

I would really be pleased if anyone could help
me identify it.

With regards
AntiqueAndy

Hi and welcome. :)
Is the decor on the outside actually applied metal, or is it a metallic finish on glass?
If it is something metallic, I would suggest searching around contemporary Romanian glass.
I do think this is fairly recent. :)

Thank-you so much for posting your images directly to the board. It is really appreciated. ;D

Hi chopin-liszt

Thanks for the quick reply and information.

I would say it is metallic  finish on glass that would be my
guess.

Thanks again.

Well spotted, john.  ;D
I couldn't work out if it looked like something familiar, or if it was shadows from the photography.
I was a bit stumped on finding it was not metal decor.

This one is cameo, I was handling a bit of Okra cameo on Thursday at Newark and the mark was fresh in my mind...
