I see this is even extra distinguished by being Brierlet. ;D
(I know I'm wibbling, but somebody needs to acknowledge your helpful and illustrative posts. It's not nice going to all this effort and then finding nobody says anything.)
Cheers, Sue M. (she/her)

Thanks, Sue, for pointing out Keith's "typo". I was looking for something to moderate ... so now I am happy and have amended the title. :)

very desirable Keith - looks almost as though it might be used as a cosh.                Staying with the suffix et for a mo...........   rather than French, my first thought was the connection with those words which suggest a diminutive form of, or small something  ...............   as in.........
cygnet, booklet, droplet, piglet, playlet, hamlet .........   how about crumpet ?;)

but seriously, you do have some fine pieces from that output - are you still working on a definitive catalogue raisonne for R.B. ;D

that's not a problem Keith  -  seriously..................   the days of academic treaties consisting of hard to follow text with just a few line drawings, are gone, fortunately.           It is images that are important  -we thrive on them, and as the saying goes  -  a picture is worth a thousand words.
Stop for a moment and think of the amount of text you would need to fully and accurately describe this bulb vase  -  a lot of words I'd guess    .... but show us a picture as you have done, and almost nothing else needed.
In C19 and C20 text books on some aspect of natural history there were methods known as 'keys', used to identify 'species' - of all sorts.
Apart from needing to know a vast specialist vocabulary, this made identifying something - without an image - difficult, even if you were au fait with your subject.
So  -  plough on and we look forward to seeing some comprehensive and great pix   ......................    next week ;D ;D
