unidentified weight. ID = Perthshire Paperweights PP81

some long time since I bought a weight, so not just rusty but very ignorant, and grateful for any guidance please.
This one is c. 3.25 inches in dia., and around c. 2.5 inches tall, so quite chunky ........  golfer with bag as centre motif, and the small white cane on the underside shows a date of 1992 with upper case P - which might just possibly indicate this is a Perthshire piece.         Just within the base depression is the No. 233, which presumably indicates this one's place in the edition of  ...?         Appreciate thoughts please, and thanks for looking.

many thanks Greg  -  and much appreciate the interesting link.  :)             This came from a charity shop yesterday, and unfortunately has a small impact mark on the dome - not really noticeable but probably makes it of little interest to those who like their weights absolutely perfect.     Attractive weight though.

Glad to help Paul :)

Nice item. Shame about the small impact mark, although still a good buy I would think all things considered.

Shame about the impact mark.

However, the design of small and large millefiori canes is, in my opinion, the better of the designs for the PP81 range. From 1994 the design used a spoke and millefiori pattern.

The 1992 date means it was from the first year that the PP81 had a picture cane (made up of lots of tiny coloured rods) as the central motif - before that, from 1985 to 1991, the centre motif was a large white cane with a monochrome transfer and the golfer had no bag.

thanks for the extra information Kevin  -  a golfer without a bag - most unusual. :)
