Caithness markings ...
« on: June 16, 2019, 09:41:03 AM »
Hi, I’m new to this board so apologies if I’m posting in the wrong place.
I’ve recently inherited some paperweights, quite a few of them Caithness. My question though, are all Caithness items marked on the bottom? I’ve been bought a bowl which was said to be Caithness but there’s no markings at all on it so I’m assuming it’s not actually Caithness. Any ideas?

If it looks like it, it could be. Caithness don't always mark their factory seconds and when they do the mark would be CGII or CIIG or something similar. Hope that helps!

Hi, thanks ... I’m not sure at all ... all my other Caithness items have Caithness on the bottom, or CIIG (seconds) ... but I can’t find anything at all on the bowl...

Welcome!  :)

Bowls and vases may often have had a sticker or label rather than markings. It really would help if we could see it.  :)

I’ve tried attaching a photo but it says it’s too large to upload ... I’m using an iPad, any idea how to upload the photo?

If you get stuck please email your photos to me and I'll resize them and add them for you.  iPad's don't play nicely here for some odd reason.  ;D

support AT glassmessages.com will reach me just fine. (Close up the spaces and change the AT to @).

Your universal pokey stick isn't universal for ipaddy things? Or do you need to "update" it to a more expensive one?
I don't understand why things are deliberately made to be incompatible and unworkable. ::)  :P  ;)
