Scarce IOW studio glass bottle
« on: December 19, 2020, 03:30:33 PM »

  Hi,
I understand these were only made for a short time—making them possibly difficult to find.

Not absolutely sure but looks like Golden Peacock in a dark green colour.

    Can anyone confirm ?

    Many thanks for looking  :)

     Ht  6.5”.  16.5cm

It's a Perfume Bottle, not just a bottle with a stopper. This shape was used for PBs.
I think you are quite correct in your attribution, but should add that there isn't a great deal of Golden Peacock around, period. It was a time consuming thing to make, so not as profitable as required. ;)

    Hi Sue,  :)
I’ve got another Golden Peacock perfume bottle, very different in all respects, bulbous body with a rather large heavy stopper.
I found it in a charity shop in Fort William would you believe——glass does travel  ;D
I think it’s the Royale version in deep blue.
I hadn’t a clue what it was but I took a chance ............
One of my favourite pieces now.

If it’s permitted I’ll send a photo of it tomorrow

I have a trial PB made by Jonathon Harris when he first set up on his own - the pattern is Horizon and it's this shape exactly. It might not have been a standard shape, but JH certainly did make it. ;D
I haven't got my book to hand atm, to look up dates and shapes made at the IoWS itself.
But I'll come back and report when I find it.  :)

  Hi,
There’s a somewhat similar one for sale on eBay ( Isle of Wight perfume bottles )at the moment .
A bit taller, different collection ( Bon Bon —Peppermint).

Tried to use a link but for some reason it didn’t work   ???
