Tango Glass Miniature Vase
« on: February 02, 2022, 11:59:06 AM »
This little vase is only 7cm. tall and 5cm. at its widest. There are a few pieces online with similar decoration often attributed to Loetz or Kralik but actually I think so far they are unidentified. Perhaps there is some new information about them.

Pretty and nice colour.

I think looking at the decoration is probably key.  I have a jam pot that came with a little epns lid and I'm sure I found it was made by another maker or at least not attributed.  You'll need to do some searching but I'm pretty sure neither Kralik nor Loetz.

Yes I believe he is a glass collector.  The one with similar enamel to yours is unidentified maker.

You might do better trying to find examples of the Tango Sklo exhibition which I think was a few years ago held in a few locations (it moved).  I recently posted about it somewhere.

Could it be a crocus or acorn bulb vase?

I'd not heard of a crocus bulb vase before and it could be a possibility although on the ones I've seen the top section tends to be deeper. My guess would be it's just ornamental or a posy vase perhaps for a dressing table.

:) Crocus and acorn vases are real things, and I really rather strongly suspect this is one. The critical part is the hole fitting the bottom part of the bulb which allows and guides the roots down away from the bulb, much more than the depth of the cup.
