multi coloured bowl,help needed.
« on: June 19, 2022, 07:53:06 PM »
Not my normal field of collecting but i bought this today as the top rim shape looked quite unusual.
I think it has a bit of age to it. 4 of the 5 feet have nibbles and the pontil scar has been polished but has sharp edges.
103mm high and 154mm diameter at the top.
Any help appreciated,
Tim

Thanks for your suggestion, it lead me images of Welz glass where i found two other bowls with the same rim finish and another image exactly the same as my bowl.
Tomorrow i will try and find it in one of there catalogues.
Thanks again,
Tim

Splatter is just the name of a technique rather than a specific pattern. I don't think there are available catalogues for Welz (as far as I'm aware anyway..), but plenty of info on them on Craig's site: http://www.kralik-glass.com/

There are no Welz catalogues but there is an excellent Facebook page run by Welz researcher and member here, Craig Orkney

I had a look through the Craig's wonderful website yesterday in the Welz section  and could not see the type of colour patination or the rim shape.
Not to sure how the ones i saw online are given as Welz or maybe this is a pattern Craig has not got in his Welz section.
If it is Welz he can have the images .
Thanks for your input.
Tim

I don't think Craig has been doing much to his website lately, that's not to say he's not still researching. Asking here is your best bet https://www.facebook.com/groups/1545941745690762/
