Help! Murano style vase
« on: October 30, 2022, 07:05:40 PM »
Hello
i recently picked up a vase which looks like a Murano glass copy or in the style of at least. The transfer is warn away, if pushed it seems to say 'Williams' under a style name but i don't know if it is Stevens and Williams or not. It looks hand blown. Any help welcome for a newbie collector.

Hello and welcome.  :)
I think your guts are doing quite well if you think this is a copy or in the style of. Your suspicions are correct. This is modern Chinese glass.
Big, bright and wonky.  ;D

The stripes all go squint towards the bottom - and are wonky at the top.
You wouldn't get that in Murano glass. But I believe there is a bit of China which as been called Murano so labels can be put on.
There is nothing much wrong with it - it is a large colourful decorative thing and you can use it freely without worrying about causing a lot of damage.  8)
