Carnival & Depression glass ID's required
« on: January 05, 2007, 11:05:44 PM »
Hello,

A couple more pieces from yesterday's buying spree. First of all a Carnival glass dish, the interior is undecorated, the reverse features a design of four simple flowers above two pairs of leaves. Appears to be from a four part mould with the flowers along the mould seams. Measures just over 7 inches wide. Base glass is amethyst, the iridescence is  strong with metallic gold & purple tones.

Secondly a pair of candleholders in what appears to be a Uranium green glass. The base is decorated to the underside with a pattern of flowers & leaves with a couple of butterflies in amongst the foliage. The measure approx 5 inches in diameter at base by 3 inches high. From a 2 part mould.

Thank you  :)

Hi Steven -

Your green candlesticks might be U.S. Glass (Tiffin) Flower Garden with Butterflies pattern.  I'll go look for a picture of the internet for you to compare.  I can't see the pattern detail well enough in your photos to be sure.

Back with a fairly clear picture of the pattern.

Scroll down and click the detail photo.

Looks like Dugan's "Daisy Dear". I wrote an explanation re. this pattern and Dugan's "Triplets" in a previous answer - here:
